Access to the Advanced Light Microscopy Technology Platform

Access to the microscope systems of the Advanced Light Microscopy (ALM) is open to all interested scientists and research groups from the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), the Berlin Institute for Medical System Biology (BIMSB) and the Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC).

Internal users

Registration for using microscopes of the MDC Advanced Light Microscopy platform is possible for all MDC scientists and registered guests via the Booking Platform OpenIris by providing us with some information of the planned imaging project.

More information can be also found on our internal ALM webpages.

Getting access to the microscopes of the Advanced Light Microscopy of the MDC includes:

  • a discussion of the imaging project and selection of the appropriate microscopy technique and imaging method 

  • a theoretical seminar on the fundamentals of light and fluorescence microscopy

  • an individual, one-to-one training at the appropriate microscope

  • one additional assisted training session

  • a general introduction to usage rules, booking system, laser and work safety regulations.
